One Piece 938: Ah, another piece falls into place. And forces are gathering. It’s Big Mom I’m most interested in, though. How is she going to fit in with the rest?
The Promised Neverland 129: I feel like this chapter just spelt out in big letters what we already knew about Norman. I guess bearing in mind that a lot of the audience is young boys and very casual readers, though, being more obvious isn’t a bad thing. Don’t feel like anything much was really developed, though. And it’s quite a good thing to see some more of Norman’s other faction.
Boruto 33: Hrmm, the problem with a sequel manga like this is that after fights got so ridiculous at the end of the first one, they’re seriously underwhelming in the continuation. It picked up after a little while but the initial slugfest seemed so low-level in a world where so many techniques were basically instakills.

One Punch Man 105: Just like Hapsiel, Puri Puri Prisoner is hilarious but you’d never want to be within 500 metres of the guy. His oblivious nature and deeply unpleasant appearance make this funny despite the underlying homophobia and trivialisation of rape. I’m amused enough that I can accept it for what it is in a very silly imaginary world.

One Piece 937: Awesome! Oda is so good at these action sequences with little injections of comedy. Great to see Zoro in action again and the situation made for some funny panels as well as great serious ones.
Haikyuu! 343: Hoshiumi is totally stealing Hinata’s thunder! But it’s pretty cool that he worked so hard to get where he is. I don’t think his team is gonna win (MAYBE Bokuto and co will take it in the final) but it’s an increasingly interesting match-up.
Dr. Stone 99: A nice chapter this time, cleverly covering a timeskip through the idea of recording everything with primitive photography. Nice transition chapter with some funny moments, too. Poor Kohaku, lol
Chainsawman 15: okay, maybe this will turn out to be a very funny ensemble comedy. Getting stuck in a loop isn’t a very original scenario but the way this bunch of misfits reacted to it was pretty entertaining. Especially the way Denji capped it all off. One thing’s for sure, he’s very different from the other Shounen Jump protagonists!
The Promised Neverland 128: Looks like it’s time for Norman to fall out of the plot again. But what’s he up to with that hair? To be honest, it’s good for some impetus to be put back into this title.

One Piece 936: Hrmm, I’m not sure if Oda never outgrowing the puerile naked lady jokes is charming or charmless. Either way it’s not very funny. And Zoro’s fight seems a bit random and abrupt. But Luffy’s story is heating up well.
Chainsawman 13-14: the flashback to the serious character’s past brought a fair bit more depth to this series, and I’m sensing the major antagonist of the title is getting slowly introduced here. I doubt it will be another throwaway villain, though it may be. The sexual tease angle is wearing thinner and thinner though.
Haikyuu! 342: nice heartening chapter for Karasunomori. Tsukki got a good block in and now the rally is heating up.
Dr. Stone 98: I don’t think we need too much hype for Ryusei and how his greed can be a virtue when framed as determination. But I’m still rooting for the collective.

The Promised Neverland 126: It was just talking but this was a great chapter. The characters finally talk about some important things, we find out that Musica is a big exception rather than typical of an outlier group and the kids think of war with demons in a way that reflects extremely well on war in the real world and how dehumanization works that can teach very valuable lessons through an accessible medium. I liked this a lot.

One Piece 935: a pervy chapter. And once again Luffy has just stumbled into friendship with a major player for this arc. Not a very interesting chapter but hopefully it will lead to some good setpieces.
Chainsawman 12: this got more pervy too. Well, it was always pervy but in a relatively harmless way up until this. But hey, at least we’re seeing there’s bigger possible goals than the silly ones from before.
Haikyuu! 341: nice few points either way. The other team’s defence is formidable but believable.
Dr. Stone 97: hmm, finding some more supplies and making a transport network is fine but it wasn’t very fun.

Haikyuu! 340: a bit of the wind taken out of poor Hinata’s sails, though he still did it first for maximum impact! And then the real obstacle is revealed, a high-level read-blocker. How will our intrepid team deal with this? Dun dun daaaaaa~
Kuroshitsuji 149: again I’m struck by the beautiful art, especially the backgrounds. Yuck, though – kidney pie. That’s one dish I’m glad is fading from British cuisine, along with liver and onions. This revelation of the reliance on blood is quite new and very vampire-derived. And the other Ciel’s motives and feelings remain very ambiguous. Not sure where this’ll go.
Dr. Stone 96: It was a bit of a jump in logic for me for Senku to hear ‘Why?’ and assume it was a reaction to their presence and that they’re facing an antagonist. We’ll see, though. The explanation of how quartz is used in a cathode ray tube is also a bit off, and I think they could’ve jumped strait to making sonar. Still, the energy and exuberance of the art this chapter was a joy and I’m looking forward to an anime adaptation making this more popular, just like…
The Promised Neverland 125: makes sense to ally with a group of exiles. The enemy of my enemy… But I’m sure things won’t go as smoothly as they hope.
