Kuroshitsuji 138: I’m relieved we’re past the weird quasi-erotic
torture of little boys, though being able to have comic relief asides with a
loved one’s dead body mere feet away made this chapter much more hollow. The
strategic negotiations were a strong point, and it’s good to go back to the
main story, so the chapter was positive overall even if nothing much happened
and the cliffhanger was something we’ve known since the start. Also a bit weird
nobody misses these shadow elites when they all vanish at once.
D. Gray-Man 228: I get the feeling this was supposed to be like the
farewell to Merry in One Piece, but
it didn’t really have any emotional impact and was mostly just plain confusing.
