Kuroshitsuji 136: I just feel unpleasant reading this now. It’s just torture porn and this was much more powerful when it was all implicit rather than laid bare.

One Punch Man 88: talking about Saitama this way is a bit redundant. I’m entertained by seeing him and his circle. This chapter just wasn’t particularly interesting.
Haikyuu! 291: I thought this wind-up chapter wouldn’t be that fun to read, but it was full of superb character moments. The page of what the team are doing when extremely tired was amazing, especially Tsukishima, and I’m interested in what Hinata will do next.
HunterxHunter 375: way too much text and too little action, again. I liked seeing Biscuit’s reveal and the reaction it got, though I’d probably enjoy it more if I hadn’t recently written something very similar myself.

Dr. Stone 47: Hrmmm, sure katana are admirable but I think this might be going a bit far. I guess swelling national pride in the target audience might carry it off though. Kinrou’s glasses were fun to see too.

HunterxHunter 374: another info-dump chapter, without even a good cliffhanger this time. Not what I hoped for when the series returned, but I trust Togashi to give a decent pay-off later.
Haikyuu! 290: Woo! A beautiful block from our main characters ends this long and exciting match and brings us to the next phase of the tournament. Nice to see all the tension break in an anniversary chapter with a colour cover.
Dr. Stone 46: Nice action-packed beginning to a new arc, and it’s fun to see how well Senku and Gen work so well together on manipulation and bluffing.

The Promised Neverland 75: Nice build-up chapter and surprise start to the battle that doesn’t actually change anything in storytelling terms but heightens the tension. This title remains very strong even if it’s predictable.

One Piece 895: Just a combat chapter, but quite fun seeing Luffy develop, even if his idea was a simple one. The bad guy using his best move twice generally means he’s about to be defeated, but it’ll be two weeks before we find out.

Gashros 8-11: this manga is a bit all over the place. One minute gruesome death, then new characters out of the blue and the kids making it on their own, and then all of a sudden a throwaway character and quick death played for laughs and now some weird new clan. I like Akuu and I like the art and setting so I’ll stick with it, but it’s a weird one for sure.

One Piece 894: Luffy pulls out another form, but these have always been some of the least-developed and least interesting parts of One Piece. I’m interested in what it’ll be but much more interested in Big Mom being back in action and not slow-chasing the crew like something out of the new Star Wars.
HunterxHunter 373: Some interesting action at the beginning, with a counterattack-type nen, and its countermeasures too, but it soon fizzled out.
Haikyuu! 289: Damn, this game has been going on forever. But I’m invested in it and have been expecting a dump play for a while now – nice to see it happen at last. And Hinata being calm and cool was very nice too!
The Promised Neverland 74: no surprise at all that this character reappears. But his circumstances were quite unexpected. Wonder how long we’ll follow him instead of Emma.
Dr. Stone 45: Can’t really call this emotional because it’s too far-fetched even for such a daft manga. But bring on the next arc!
