Gashros 13 – yikes. It was obviously a dumb move to stay in enemy territory planning
to run away after rest. But oh well, there were some nice cute moments in this
chapter only to be cruelly ripped away.

One Piece 898: The Germa going at it
was as satisfying as it promised to be from their big pose last time. But
everything going so well is a red flag that we’re in for a tragedy very soon…
HunterxHunter 378: A more interesting
chapter than most of the set-up ones. Though there was no real action, I’m very
interested in seeing what will happen to Nobunaga, Phinks and Fei-Tang.
Haikyuu!! 294: Very fun to see this
clash begin. And a great first point. But now Kenma will get serious, I’m sure.
And it was hilarious how the schoolmates coming to watch underestimated him.
Dr.
Stone 50:
Didn’t expect that weapon, I must say. And its creation seems absurd. We’ll see
how they get there. Tuesday, 13 March 2018
Gashros 12: Good kids! They know not to fall for the hedonism,
haha. But tempting a man that way, that’s not very innocent, now, is it?
The Promised Neverland 78: It’s great fun to root for underdogs this far under
their opponents. Especially when they’re going to win. Just all-out action now,
but it’s very satisfying nonetheless in what used to be such a slow and
cerebral manga.

One Piece 897: I wondered who would
show up to deal with the huge numbers. Not my favourite option, but it works.
Pekoms being surprised he was recognised was also pretty funny.
HunterxHunter 377: Cute little jab at the
end. And a nice chapter because it finally got back to the Ryodan. No action
with them, but there mere presence is enough to lift the arc immensely. Still
miss Shalnark and Koltopi though. It’s important to have stakes, though, even
for characters like these. And it’s nice to see Illumi came along too!
Haikyuu! 293: nice build up, predicated
on an unexpected flashback. The handshake was also very funny. Looking forward
to how this match unfolds. It’s gonna be hard to keep this tournament from
getting samey.
Dr. Stone 49: Nice chapter, and I love how the symbolic wind of death
is drawn. Interesting how it can be drawn so clearly but the reader knows the
characters don’t see it like that. I genuinely don’t know what Senkuu is
referring to in the cliffhanger, though it will probably seem obvious when
revealed. Makes me curious, though.

One Piece 896: bit of an anticlimactic end to the fight. Nice to
see Pekoms again as Nazoms (reminiscent of when Sogeking showed up), and there’s
a fun set-up for the next stage in this story ready.
HunterxHunter 376: Still
not a lot of action, but at least there were some fun scenes with Melody and
Tserriednich. It’s clear Togashi has despite his breaks/breakdowns put a huge
amount of thought into this, but that doesn’t stop it being a bit dull…
Haikyuu! 292: I didn’t think this would transition so well.
After such a long time on one match, this chapter was super-refreshing. The
kids watching themselves on TV was adorable, and some focus on Bokuto was also
great.
Boruto 21: I never think I’ll enjoy Boruto,
but then I do. This kind of strategizing and prediction was what made the early
chapters of Naruto good, so seeing
the same kind of thing here – with some very pretty art – was great.
Dr. Stone 48: after all that explanation of how amazing katana are, they weren’t
very useful in the face of a spear. Still, Ginrou was adorable in this chapter,
and the sabotage at the end was satisfying.
Kuroshitsuji 137: I suppose it makes sense to conclude this
flashback of things we already knew happened. Hopefully that means it’s back to
the main action now, though frankly there’s no tension left that the other Ciel
is who he says he is. And Sebastian’s way of making the boy think he was the
one responsible was certainly dubious.
The Promised Neverland 077: Pretty satisfying to see the underdogs rising to
the challenge. Nice chapter even with a focus on minor characters we don’t
really care about.
